Sep 2002 to present
MWDN Ltd Israel, UK, Ukraine
Establishment and management of MWDN Ltd and management of its major projects
(Lincafe and CardioWiz). MWDN Ltd is British company which operates R&D in
Ukraine for its international customers. Our core competence is to perform
outsourced projects in the areas of core business of the customer (which are
usually hard to outsource). At this position I performed product management of
two projects, project management, building and managing of two teams (8 people
and 9 people) with team leaders, participating in architecture development,
demonstration and deployment of the product, crafting unique development
process (partially RUP and partially XP).
CardioWiz and Lincafe projects half-page descriptions are
available here.
Nov 1999 – Sep 2002
Medcon Ltd – Connectivity manager (Israel, US)
This position included establishing and managing Medcon Ltd connectivity
department (turned to be Medcon Project Department), which provided whole range
of connectivity and integration services to the customers of Medcon Symphony
product line (cardiac department information system). Connectivity team
developed infrastructure for building cardiac department workflow and
integrating with other relevant systems, which included HIS, CIS, hemodynamic
and electrophysiology, order management, scheduling, billing, inventory
management, ACC, STS and other clinical registries. Links were established
using HL7, DICOM, MML (Japan) standards and proprietary interfaces. Technically
we used VC++/DCOM/.NET/VSS, SQL Server, DTS, ADO and ADO.NET, BizTalk and XML
database tools. I was also responsible for product definitions, per-customer
project management, on-site implementation and customization, RFP/RFI
preparations, sales training and marketing materials preparation, customer
collaboration, support, software demonstrations, internal development process
integration and coordination with respective system vendors. Approximately 50%
of this time I spent at major US hospitals and another half of the time in
management of the team and coordination of delivery of the product to the
customers. During those two years we turned “island” non-customizable system
into the product with connectivity and workflow design as its primary
competitive advantage. My major achievement was establishment of project
department in 100% product-oriented company and development of adequate
development, deployment and maintenance processes for project team. At this
position I experienced implementation of XP programming techniques and Agile
methodologies, project management and its tools, gained documentation and
customer communication skills, requirement gathering and analysis.

Visio and Rational Rose, relational database design, Oracle, Java, Windows and
Unix OS internals, ODBC, RogueWave DB access tools and work with worldwide
customer base as well as product lifecycle and Rational Unified Process. We
developed and deployed Rule Manager Interface Engine using VC++, native C++ of
Sun Solaris, IBM AIX and HP, oracle 7 and 8 on all of those environments. I
